A short while ago Medi Responses’ Search and Rescue division, together with advanced life support paramedics, responded to reports of a drowning in progress at Granny’s Pool, Ballito.
On arrival of crews, it was established that two-holiday makers had been swimming in the sea when they got into difficulty and were swept out to sea. Onlookers witnessed the incident and contacted lifeguards. The Kwadukuza lifeguards did a fantastic job in effecting a rescue.
Paramedics worked to stabilise the pair on the scene before being transported.
