A 41-year-old man was stabbed three times during a robbery at a block manufacturing businesses in Riet River, KZN this morning (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the premises at approximately 06:18 after receiving reports of the incident. On arrival, the victim informed Reaction Officers that he lived on the premises. He was asleep when he heard someone knock on his door.
When he opened up, he was accosted by two men. One person was armed with a firearm while his accomplice was in possession of a knife. The suspects forced him into his room and demanded cash and valuables. They stole three cellphones before they stabbed him on his head and body. The robbers then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The man was treated on scene for three stab wounds to his body.
