The mother of the deceased was phoned that her son was assaulted to death. Apparently, he was accused of stealing the property of the four suspects who were arrested for his murder.
On 03 April 2022 at about 20:30 Me. Maria Lesia (42) residing in Thabong was apparently called about her son Bongani Pharma (27) who was being assaulted. He was accused of stealing a property of the four known males residing in the same street in Thabong.
Bongani was tied on an electric pole and hit with wooden sticks and garden spade. He later passed on and a case of murder was registered after the police was informed about the incident.
The three suspects aged between 40 and 41 were arrested and the fourth one who is 24-year-old handed himself over to the Thabong Police Station today on 06 April 2022.
The four suspects will be charged for murder and will appear soon in the Welkom Magistrate Court.
