Lwandle police arrested a 43-year-old male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and pointing of a firearm and domestic violence in Xaki Street, Asanda Village Wednesday evening at about 21:45.
The members received a complaint of domestic violence after an argument between the complainant and her husband. It is alleged that the suspect pointed at the victim with the firearm and she ran away to get help, while he was busy loading the magazine into the firearm. Police were informed and on their arrival arrested the man for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The suspect was arrested and detained and will appear in the Strand Magistrates court on Monday 11 April 2022.
