House Catches Alight After Power Restoration: Redcliffe – KZN

A house on Dawnview Drive in Redcliffe – KZN was extensively damaged in a fire this morning.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the property at approximately 10:17. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered part of the home engulfed in flames. The Ethekwini Fire & Rescue Services arrived shortly thereafter and extinguished the blaze.

According to the homeowner, they noticed smoke emanating from the home shortly after power was restored due to loadshedding. Neighbours attempted to douse the flames with a garden hose but the blaze swept rapidly through the home.

No injuries were reported.
