Needs assessment after structural fire within the Ethembeni informal settlement in Dunoon

Gift of the Givers teams are currently engaged in assessments within the Ethembeni informal settlement in Dunoon, #CapeTown 📍. Following a distress call from the community leaders and members, the teams promptly responded to the rapidly spreading fire in the area.

Disaster Risk Management teams are also present on-site, carrying out registrations. Tragically, approximately 70 structures have been completely destroyed, leading to the displacement of over 200 individuals thus far.

Gift of the Givers will provide the affected community with essential support, including hot meals, water, and baby care packs.
