Guns and drugs seized in Mount Fletcher

Members from specialize units including the K9 and Mounted Unit of Maluti and the POPS unit that work across District borders had the following successes in the Mount Fletcher area within in the Joe Gqabi District.

A two day crime intelligence driven operation were held from the 27 to 28 July 2023. The members followed up on positive information and made the following arrests at the Kontloanonu locality. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession and dealing of drugs 52 small sachets Crystal meth and cash were seized.

A second suspect 30-year-old was arrested with 39 small sachets crystal meth and cash.

A third suspect age 41-year-old was arrested for the unlawful possession of two unlicensed firearm. The firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to determine whether they were not used in other crimes committed.

The acting District Commissioner Brig Asogran Naidoo commended the members that worked in our District on the successful arrests and confiscations that will have a very positive impact on the crime in the Mount Fletcher area.
