Two suspects nabbed, four firearms and ammunition recovered

An intelligence driven operation by police officers in uMzinyathi District has resulted in the arrests of two suspects and the recovery of four firearms and ammunition on Thursday, 10 August 2023.

Police operationalised intelligence which led them to KwaSenge area where one suspect was arrested for being in an illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. A search for the second suspect led to the recovery of a firearm at his place of residence, however the man was not at his home. A search for him continues.

The operation proceeded to KwaDolo where a suspect was nabbed after he was found to be in possession of two firearms, a handgun and a shotgun, as well as ammunition.

The arrested suspects will appear before the Kranskop and Msinga Magistrate’s Court respectively.
