The vigilance of members attached to the Provincial Operational Command Centre (POCC) ensured that three stolen vehicles were recovered and two suspects arrested for being in possession of stolen vehicles.
The members followed up on information of a stolen vehicle which was spotted in Voortrekker Road, Maitland. The driver entered the premises while the members checked and verified the information about the vehicle. They further discovered two more vehicles on the premises that were reported stolen recently.
They subsequently seized a Silver Hyundai Atos that was reported as stolen in Belhar in August 2023, a Silver Honda Ballade, stolen in Mitchells Plain in June 2023 and a stripped Opel Corsa LDV, which was stolen in Sea Point during June 2023.
The members arrested two adult males for the possession of the stolen vehicles and they are due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates court today 16 August 2023 on the mentioned charges.
