Suspect caught red-handed for cable theft in Vrededorp, Johannesburg

A 39-year-old male was arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover Reaction Unit for cable theft in Vrededorp.

On Thursday morning, 24 August 2023, officers received a complaint from the JMPD Tactical Command Centre of a male cutting out cable at Enoch Sontonga Avenue and Solomon Street in Vrededorp.

The officers proceeded to the given location where they observed the said male. The officers approached the male and managed to apprehend him whilst he was in action.

The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at Brixton SAPS for tampering with essential infrastructure.
