Suspected stolen vehicle recovered on Jan Street around Jet Park, in the Boksburg area

On Tuesday 22 August 2023, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bromberg Special Operations Unit Officers, recovered a stolen motor vehicle on Jan Street around Jet Park, in the Boksburg area.

Members received information from a reliable source about a vehicle parked for a prolonged period, on Jan Street. Following up on this information, Officers arrived on the scene and a white Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback, was found abandoned at Jan Street in Jet Park around the Boksburg area. On inspection, the Officers noticed that there were no registration plates affixed to the front or rear of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle identity number (VIN) number was tampered with.

Although no suspects were arrested, the vehicle was taken to Aeroton pound for safe-keeping and investigations are underway.
