Hospital employees hijacked in Cottonlands

Seven hospital employees were hijacked while being transported to their homes in Cottonlands – KZN.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a Detective Captain based at the KZN Provincial Offices in Durban – KZN requesting assistance to locate the victims. The SAPS Official provided limited information regarding the incident.

Reaction Officers converged on the area and located the victims at a service station on Vincent Dickinson Road in Cottonlands – KZN. The driver explained that he was deploying Administration staff from Osindisweni Government Hospital (OGH) to their homes after work when they was forcefully stopped by a maroon Toyota Quest (registration unknown).

Two suspects entered the unbranded Nissan NV 350 Patient Transport Vehicle with registration KZN 211944 and sped off. The armed men thereafter dumped the victims on an unpaved road before they drove off in an unknown direction.

The walked to a nearby service station where they were located by Reaction Officers.
