Operation Restore detains four suspects for possession of drugs

Four suspects between the ages of 21 and 50 are expected to make their court appearances today following their arrest by police members attached to Operation Restore on charges of possession of drugs in isolated incidents.

Police members deployed as part of the platoon conducting High Density Crime Prevention duties in Kraaifontein on Thursday 26 October 2023, pursued information of a drug outlet. Upon entering the premises in Gunning Street in Scottsville, they searched the premises and confiscated a consignment of mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R80 000. They arrested a 50-year-old man on a charge of possession of drugs.

In an unrelated incident, the platoon pounced on identified addresses in Mfuleni in the early hours of today simultaneously. The members searched the inner and outer perimeters and confiscated dagga. They arrested two suspects, aged 21 and 39, on charges of possession of dagga.

Meanwhile the police members responded to information of suspicious activities in Bardale early this morning. The convoy approached the address in Ibola Street and searched the occupants and the premises. They confiscated 49 sachets filled with methamphetamine, 14 straws containing Heroin and eight mandrax tablets. They arrested a 46 year old man on a charge of possession of drugs.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Kuils River and Blue Downs Magistrate’s court’s on the mentioned charges.
