A Mozambican Spitting Cobra measuring just over a meter was captured by Reaction Officers in a home in C Section, Parkgate – KZN this afternoon (Saturday).
The owner of the property contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance at approximately 12:32 after they noticed a black snake in an outbuilding. The caller was unable to identify the snake. Reaction Officers were dispatched and on arrival discovered the highly venomous reptile behind a stack of beer crates.
RUSA Member Nkosinathi Ndaba (pictured left) captured the snake and relocated it to an area away from homes.
