A robbery suspect was arrested and a stolen cellphone was recovered in his possession in Tongaat – KZN this morning (Friday).
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the area at approximately 07:29 when he noticed the victim pursuing the robber on foot. The Reaction Officer pursued the suspect and apprehended him on the corner of High Street & Ushukela Drive.
The victim arrived shortly thereafter and informed the RUSA Member that he was walking to his place of employment when he was confronted by the unknown male who produced a knife and robbed him of his cellphone. The stolen Nokia was recovered in the robber’s possession.
The suspect was placed under arrest and detained at SAPS Tongaat.
