Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Trevenen Road in Lotusville – KZN after receiving reports of a stabbing.
On arrival, Reaction Officers met with the Verulam SAPS. It was established that a male in his twenties stabbed his elderly grandfather and father with a large knife in a fit of anger.
Details leading up to the incident could not be confirmed but it was alleged that the family were dealing with flooding on their property.
A argument ensued which led to the murder and attempted murder.
Both victims were expedited privately to hospital.
The elderly male in his seventies was pronounced deceased on arrival. The second victim was in a serious condition.
The suspect remained on the property and was arrested by Law Enforcement.
