Two suspects, aged 22 and 35, were arrested for business robbery and attempted murder at Tumahole.
On Friday 02 February 2024, the Fezile Dabi District members received information about the suspects who have been terrorizing Tumahole with business robberies. The suspects were spotted in the vicinity of Tumahole and it was reported that the suspects were armed.
The members swiftly operationalised the information and the said blue VW Polo with Gauteng registration was spotted leaving Parys at high speed. The members gave chase until the vehicle stopped and three suspects ran on foot into the bushes.
The members managed to apprehend two of the suspects and the third one is still on the run. A blue VW Polo and cellphones were confiscated.
The suspects were taken to the police station and while the members were busy with the detention, an unknown man arrived and offered the members cash in exchange for his friends to be released.
The 36-year-old man was also arrested for bribery and an undisclosed amount of cash was confiscated.
The three suspects will appear before the Parys Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 05 February 2024.
