MEC of Transport issued more than 300 appointment letters as part of a job creation campaign

As part of honouring the commitment of creating jobs, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka, will tomorrow, 08 February 2024 issue appointment letters to more than 300 new employees as part of the S’thesha Waya Waya Campaign.

The continuous roll out of S’thesha Waya Waya is a direct response to the priorities of the 6th Administration.
Since the launch of this campaign in June 2023, hundreds of unemployed people have been employed in various government departments, including state entities. More interns have also been placed to assist in skills development.

More than 340 appointment letters will be issued by the MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison tomorrow in Pietermaritzburg. In addition, more than 230 unemployed youth will also be appointed to assist learners in crossing hazardous spots to school. The programme is part of a road safety campaign called Walking School Bus. The Majority of those who will be issued with appointment letters are infrastructure employees, who are going to assist the department in improving the maintenance of the provincial road network.
