Stolen livestock found in Gauteng

The Eyes and Ears (E2) initiative in the Free State continues to make strides in the fight against stock theft in the province after yet another success where stolen sheep were found.

On the evening of 20 February 2024, 132 sheep were stolen and loaded on a truck from a farm in the district of Frankfort.

Vrede Stock Theft Unit in collaboration with the Free State E2 initiative, which also included the police in the North West, Tracker Connect, JMPD and a private security company, traced the stolen stock to a location in Brakpan where 83 sheep with an estimated value of R249 000 were recovered this morning.

The owner was contacted to identify his livestock and the truck was confiscated. No one was arrested.
