Prompt reaction by Colesberg SAPS leads to the arrest of burglary suspect

The prompt reaction to information provided by the public, led Sgt Makola of Colesberg Highway patrol and Detective Sgt Mbathiwe to the stolen goods.

The members followed up on information regarding a recent burglary at the local Telkom offices on Friday, 23 February 2024.

On Sunday, 25 February 2024 at approximately 10:00, Sgt Maloka of Colesberg Highway Patrol and D/Sgt Mbathiwe of Colesberg Detectives retrieved the stolen goods worth about R40 000-00 at two different houses, one in Kuyasa and in Thutwini in Colesberg.

The police pounced on the 28-year-old suspect and found 2 laptops, a Multimeter tester, tools, a TV Box, Toshiba External Hard Drives, an electric multi plug, 2 cellphones, a Dunlop Tennis racket, a Telkom Grillon Cable and office keys in his possession.

All the items were positively identified by the complainant, as the goods stolen from their offices.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Colesberg Magistrates Court soon on charges of business robbery.
