On the 30 March 2024 at about 21:15, members of Bultfontein Visible Poicing were summoned to an accident scene in Bultfontein / Bloemfontein road.
On arrival members about 3km from Bultfontein, an African male person was found lying on his back, with a broken knee on the left foot, wound on the back of the head, multiple injuries on his body. He was wearing a black jean trouser, a yellow vest, white secret socks on both feet, head covered with blood and on the tarred road there was a trail of blood, a brown Crocket & Jones shoe was found few meters from his head. A crushed black Nokia cellphone was also found in the vicinity. He was certified dead at the scene.
More documents were found in his possession and thus he is unknown. He is dark in complexion, chubby, moustache, chiskop and could be 40 to 45 years old. It seems that it was a hit and run case and motorist is still wanted. The body is kept at Welkom State mortuary for next of kin to identify the deceased.
A case of Culpable Homicide has been registered for further investigation.
