Lebowakgomo stock theft unit investigates robbery with a firearm incident following the theft of livestock worth thousands of rands

Lebowakgomo Stock-theft Unit under Capricorn District are investigating a case of robbery with firearm following theft of livestock that occurred on Friday 03 May 2024 in Makurung village, Ga-Mphahlele next to a Taxi rank.

It is reported that the owner of the livestock was allegedly awakened by the sound of a goat and looked through the window to check his kraal. Suddenly, he heard a gunshot and lightning spark. Afterward, the victim went outside to investigate and discovered his kraal fence cut at the back.

Upon further observation, the owner noticed that twelve goats were stolen and only two remained inside the kraal. The stolen goats valued at more than twenty-five thousand rands were marked on the left ears with a skei and had a white and black colour.

The suspects are currently unknown at this stage and police request anyone with information that can lead to their apprehension to contact the Investigating Officer Captain Lebelo on 072 157 9855 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.

Police investigations are continuing.
