Two business robbery suspects arrested in the Alberton Area

On Thursday 05 June 2025, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, arresred two (2) male suspects in the Alberton area.

Acting on information received about a business robbery in progress at Heineken Warehouse, on JG Strydom Road, Officers responded to the scene, where six (6) suspects were alleged to be at large. A manhunt ensued for the suspects, with the assistance of Airwing Helicopters, Officers managed to corner forty-one (41) year-old male suspect on Silverboom street with a firearm with two (2) live rounds of ammunition

As the search for the fleeing suspects continued, Officers spotted a suspect jumping into a yard on Bosembos Street. Officers immediately gave chase and cornered the forty-one (40)year-old male suspect, who was found in possession of a black Colt pistol with eight (😎 live rounds of ammunition. Among other confiscated items were a white Samsung S24 Cellphone, a wallet with the suspect driver’s license and fifty Rand (R50) in cash.

The Officers immediately handcuffed and were detained at Brackendowns Police Station, facing multiple charges, including possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, business robbery and kidnapping. The suspects are expected to appear at the Alberton Magistrate’s Court soon.
