On 22 June, a male suspect produced a firearm after being apprehended for theft from a metro pharmacy at a centre in the Hillcrest area.
A joint effort between Ensure Security and the South African Police Service led to an extensive manhunt over the past few days, with teams following up on several leads.
The operation was successful, resulting in the suspect’s arrest and remand into SAPS custody for further investigation and processing.
An unlicensed firearm and several other items were also recovered.
