The Gauteng police have successfully recovered 141 unlicensed firearms and 1,577 rounds of ammunition between 24 May 2025 and 27 June 2025. The recovered firearms include automatic rifles, complete firearms, revolvers /pistols, rifles, and shotguns, some with serial numbers filed off.
These successful recoveries are a direct result of proactive policing efforts, including patrols, crime prevention initiatives, operations, and searches.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng, Major General Mbuso Khumalo, commended the members involved for their dedication to public safety and commitment to fighting crime.
