The commitment of police members to create safe environments for the community, led to the confiscation of two pistols with ammunition in isolated incidents on Wednesday, 16 July 2025.
Delft police followed up on information about an armed suspect robbing community members near Ibro Street in Eindhoven. They proceeded to the identified address, searched the suspect and recovered a pistol with ammunition hidden under a mattress. They detained the adult man for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Meanwhile, Muizenberg police responded to a complaint of a shooting incident in progress. Upon arrival at the identified location they noticed three males and a female walking in the opposite direction. They approached the suspects and searched them. Whilst searching the males they witnessed a firearm dropped from underneath the clothing of the female. She was not in possession of a valid license to possess the Glock 9mm pistol with ammunition which led to her detention for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The suspects are expected to make their court appearances in the Bellville and Muizenberg Magistrates’ Courts respectively, on the mentioned charges.
