A multi-agency Law Enforcement Operation yielded positive results in the Verulam Central Business District in KZN

A multi-agency Law Enforcement Operation yielded positive results in the Verulam Central Business District in KZN earlier today (Friday).

Under the leadership of Colonel Stephen Strydom and Captain Mark Prakasim of SAPS Verulam – KZN, the operation involved a collaborative effort between the South African Police Services (SAPS), Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the Verulam Business Forum (VBF), Metro Police, and several private security companies.

The operation resulted in several arrests for various crimes, as well as the recovery of illicit cigarettes, drugs, and other contraband. A drug dealer was apprehended with a substantial quantity of dagga and cough syrup, which is commonly mixed with cooldrink to produce an addictive concoction known as Lean.

Joint operations will be ongoing.
