Police nabbed six suspects for cases including business and house robberies, firearms recovered

The Police nabbed six suspects, aged between 32 and 55, for cases of business robbery, house robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen properties, following robberies that have occurred at Ntoane and Moteti in Dennilton policing area, on Thursday, 14 August 2025.

Police were summoned to a business robbery scene, whereby suspects driving in a white Toyota club cab GD6-bakkie, robbed one of the shops at Ntoane. An operation was immediately activated by Crime Prevention members, Detectives and Sekhukhune District Tracking and Investigations Team. It was found that the suspects robbed the victim of cash and cellphones and thereafter fled from the scene.

Investigations were launched and led to the arrest of the suspects, separately. The vehicle fitting the description circulated, a white Toyota club cab, was spotted at Dennilton, and a chase ensued. Police intercepted the vehicle and three male suspects were arrested and were found in possession of a pellet gun.

Police received another report of robbery at Moteti. The members swiftly responded, they spotted a suspicious white BMW driving at a high speed in the area. They managed to stop and search it, and three other suspects were arrested after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

All the six suspects, aged between 32 and 55, were arrested and they were linked with three business robberies occurred during June and July 2025, and also with the recent business and house cases, occurred on 14 August 2025. One of the suspects, aged 55, was charged with contravention of the Immigration Act.

The arrested suspects will appear before the local Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 August 2025.
