Arrest of four suspects for possession of stolen property in Mothibistad

On Monday, 18 August 2025, members of the Mothibistad SAPS acted on intelligence regarding alleged stolen property in the Seodin RDP settlement.

The Mothibistad Crime Prevention Unit swiftly apprehended four male suspects, aged between 22 and 30, who were found in possession of suspected stolen items.

The recovered property included household goods, groceries valued at approximately R10 000, two televisions, aluminium window frames, and a gas cylinder. The suspects failed to provide a legitimate account for being in possession of these items.

All four suspects were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. They are expected to appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court soon.

The Acting District Commissioner John Taolo Gaetsewe District, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi, commended the swift and professional response by the Mothibistad Crime Prevention Unit.

He further expressed his gratitude to the Seodin community for their vigilance, timely reporting of criminal activity, and continued partnership with SAPS in the fight against crime.
