High-density Operation Shanela II conducted in Actonville and Primrose Policing Precincts

Police officers and other law enforcement agencies in Ekurhuleni continue with their mandate to root out crime and protect the citizens in the district.

That was supported by high-density Operation Shanela II conducted in Actonville and Primrose policing Precincts respectively. The operations were led by the District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole, Brigadier Albertina Vesi and Brigadier Ntombizini Thethe on Thursday, 11 September 2025, whereby 61 Traffic fines with a value of R31 300, 00 were issued to the motorists, 68 suspects arrested for contravention of the Immigration Act while eight illegal liquor outlets were closed down. A total of nine suspects were arrested for possession of drugs, two J534 Tickets issued for second-hand goods non-compliance.

During suspects tracing operations by the Detectives, on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, in the evening until Thursday 11 September 2025, 244 suspects were nabbed including 170 for contact crime, 17 for contact related crime, 10 for property crime, 38 for other serious crime, and 42 for gender-based violence.

Parallel to the operations, members of Social Crime Prevention and other stakeholders conducted door-to-door awareness campaigns at Sector 2 and Tamboville. An Imbizo was also conducted to address crime in Tamboville, Actonville.
