GAUTENG – The Gauteng Counterfeit Unit, in collaboration with brand protectors has seized goods worth R802 010 in a series of operations targeting counterfeit, contraband, and illicit goods in the province.
On 18 September 18, 2025, the team visited four shops and seized 1,762 items, including counterfeit cellphone accessories, jewellery, toys, and consumables worth R355 730 in Brixton, Johannesburg District.
At Lyttelton, Tshwane District on 16 September 2025, the team visited four shops and seized 536 counterfeit cellphone accessories worth R355 770.
On Monday, 15 September 2025 five shops were visited at Evaton, Sedibeng District 2,493 items were seized, including counterfeit consumables and illicit pharmaceutical products worth R90 510
The Gauteng Counterfeit Unit will continue to combat counterfeit activities and safeguard consumer safety.
