Operation Shanela II, which was carried out by the SAPS and other law enforcement agencies in the Ekurhuleni policing precincts from Friday, 19 September 2025, to Sunday, 21 September morning, was part of the continuous commitment to defend South African citizens.
These operations sought to establish the state’s authority and concentrated on priority crimes throughout the area resulting in the arrest of 366 suspects for various offences including illegal mining, drunk and driving, dealing in drugs, possession of drugs, dealing in liquor without a license, possession of unlicensed firearm, and possession of stolen motor vehicle.
