The swift response by members of Wellington police led to the arrests of suspects for business robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of stolen property.
The members received information about two vehicles standing in the parking area of a supermarket on Monday afternoon. They noticed four unknown males running in the direction of the taxi rank and gave chase on foot. One of the suspects pointed police members with a firearm and was fatally wounded. The other three adult male suspects were arrested and two 9mm pistols with ammunition and a plastic bag containing cellular telephones were recovered.
