Armed Suspects Torment Residents: Waterloo – KZN

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to two home invasions within 30 minutes of each other in Waterloo – KZN yesterday (Friday) evening.

At approximately 20:44, Reaction Officers were called out to a property on Aster Road in Waterloo – KZN (picture 1). Upon arrival, it was established that a family of seven had been held at gunpoint by two men wearing balaclavas and armed with firearms. The suspects demanded cash and mobile phones, taking a Samsung A06, an Honor X6, a Redmi smartphone, and an Oppo mobile device. The suspects also instructed the family to complete a R1,000 cash send and took the house keys before fleeing in a black Honda. The vehicle’s registration details are unconfirmed.

While attending to the first scene, Reaction Officers were alerted to a second home invasion approximately 1.9 kilometres away on Woodpecker Road (picture 2). Officers arrived at around 21:11 and found that a family of five had been held at gunpoint by two similarly masked and armed suspects. They stole a Samsung A05, an Honor X6b, a Mobicell touchscreen phone, and a basic button phone. The suspects also took the keys to a silver Mercedes-Benz C180 before fleeing in the same black Honda reported in the earlier incident.
