Three-Year-Old Child Discovered Wandering In Neighbourhood: Mt. Moriah – KZN

A three-year-old child was found crying and alone on a road in Mount Moriah – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

A resident contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 01:31, reporting the child discovered by concerned members of the public. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers, led by Operations Commander [Insert Professional Title/Name], learned that the child had been with local residents for over an hour as they attempted to locate the child’s mother.

A resident familiar with the child indicated that the family lived nearby and mentioned having seen the mother heading towards a local shop. Officers conducted a thorough search of the area and successfully located the mother, who was unaware that her child had left the residence.

According to the mother, she had received distressing news regarding her own mother’s health. In a rush to purchase airtime to contact her family, she left the child sleeping at home.

During her absence, the child woke up and exited the house through an unlocked door.
