Five suspects attempted to hijack a vehicle while fleeing a home invasion on Westham Drive in Westham, Phoenix – KZN yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to reports of an attempted hijacking. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed a 29-year-old woman who explained that the armed suspects attempted to hijack a Hyundai i10 as she returned from work. She managed to drive away safely, avoiding the hijacking.
Further enquiries revealed that the suspects were fleeing from a home invasion nearby, where they stole a Mobicel cellphone after entering a residence through an opened gate.
