Police arrest suspects for possession of drugs and dealing in liquor without a license

WESTERN CAPE – Members of Operation Shanela II conducted an intelligence driven operation in 8th Avenue, Valhalla Park, on Wednesday afternoon, searched a premises and seized a large amount of mandrax tablets and crystal meth. A 25-year-old male was arrested for the possession of drugs.

Furthermore, Operation Shanela II members deployed in Delft, searched an informal dwelling in the Freedom Farm informal settlement and confiscated 497 mandrax tablets, 52 packets containing crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash. They arrested an adult male for the possession of drugs.

In Grassy Park, the members search a premises in Harrier Street, Phumlani Village, and confiscated an assortment of liquor. The person on the premises could not produce a valid liquor license and was subsequently arrested. The 21-year-old male is facing a charge for dealing in liquor without a license.

The suspects are due to appear in the Bishop Lavis, Bellville and Wynberg Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.
