Police in Jane Furse activate a manhunt for suspect(s) of murder and attempted murder

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service at Jane Furse, in Sekhukhune District, have activated a manhunt for armed suspects who shot and killed a male driver at Madibong section in Jane Furse crossing, on Monday, 20 October 2025.

According to the report, the male victim was driving a white BMW M4 from Madibong section, to drop of his friend on the road to Jane Furse crossing and when he approached speed humps, an unknown gunmen emerged from the darkness and fired several shots towards the driver side. In the process, his friend quickly alighted. Meanwhile, the driver reversed the vehicle at a high speed, hit the tree, fence, and came to halt.

Upon arrival at the scene, the police found that the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his upper body, the passenger escaped unharmed. The emergency medical services personnel (EMS) declared the victim dead on the crime scene. The motive behind this incident is unknown at this stage.

The Police have registered murder and attempted murder cases for further investigation
