Bylaw compliance operation conducted in the Durban Central Business District

The City Manager’s Crime Prevention Task Team (CCTT), together with the Bylaw Compliance Unit conducted a successful joint operation in the Durban Central Business District today.
Operational Results:

● 40 stores inspected
● 7 stores charged for trading without a business licence.
● 1 shop closed for non-compliance (Shop No. 535, Dr Pixley kaSeme Street)
● 24 bags of expired goods confiscated.
● 17 595 illicit cigarettes seized, it was booked into SAPS 13 as evidence.

This operation forms part of the ongoing strategy to restore law, order, and compliance within the inner city.
