A woman believed to be in her early fifties is in a serious but stable condition after losing control of her car on the M13 West bound near Attercliffe Road and veered off the road, through the Armco barrier and collided with a tree this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics along with other emergency services arrived on the scene and found the woman still inside her car and entrapped. Paramedics assessed her and found she had suffered facial injuries and suspected neck and back injuries. While paramedics stabilised her, the Jaws of Life were used to extricate the woman from the wreckage. The patient was transported to Life Entabeni Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further medical care.
The circumstances around the accident are not clear but the local SAPS were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
