A 43-year-old man injured his back severely when fell during roof maintenance in Fichardt Park this morning.
The man was fixing the interior side of a residential roof when he apparently slipped and fell for 2 meters landing on the ceiling’s wooden beams.
He lay on his back and tried to call for help for approximately one hour, he was eventually discovered by the owner of the house.
When ER24 arrived on scene they couldn’t move the patient to treat him as he was in severe pain. They requested assistance from fire department personnel who tore the ceiling open to free the man.
After the one-hour-long rescue, the man was given pain management medication and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
