On Saturday 17 May 2025 at about 11:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, intercepted a male suspect aged thirty-one(31) for possession of unlicensed ammunition and dealing in illicit substance in the Delmore Gardens area.
Following on information about a suspicious male selling illicit substance from his place of residents, Officers proceeded to an informal settlement and upon arrival Officers found the male suspect matching the description given. Officers conducted a body search and found x95 Ziplock packets containing Cannabis (Dagga), x32 Ziplock packets containing Crystal Meth, x29 Ziplock packets containing Khat, x1 full Mandrax tablet, x9 half and x4 quarter Mandrax tablets and x15 rounds of ammunition in his possession all with the estimated street value of R4500.
Officers arrested the suspect who was detained at Boksburg police station, facing charges of possession of unlicenced ammunition and dealing with illicit substances. He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
