The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Gauteng Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni has reiterated the commitment of the province to support the gang-violence affected policing precincts and the AGU with resources to sustain the current interventions. “We will continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and bring justice to victims, while actively engaging and working with the community to build a safer environment,” said Lt Gen Mthombeni who went on to warn gangsters, “I want to highlight the recent conviction of 20-year-old Dylan Davis, who received a 20-year sentence for murder and attempted murder. This case, which was concluded in court on 20 May 2025, must serve as a strong deterrent to all the young men and women who involve themselves in gang-violence, terrorising their communities. However long it takes, we will arrest you and you will face the full might of the law”.
