Earlier today, KZNVIP Response Teams made contact with a complainant who reported an attempted hijacking incident involving a white Toyota Fortuner.
According to the complainant, the incident occurred near the corner of Newcenter & Veldcastle Drive, where he had stopped briefly at a local shop. A blue VW Polo (registration unconfirmed) pulled up alongside the Fortuner. The vehicle was occupied by three armed male suspects (Bravo Mikes).
All three suspects exited their vehicle and attempted to hijack the Fortuner. The attempt was unsuccessful, but the driver was assaulted during the confrontation.
As the suspects fled the scene, shots were fired. Fortunately, no further injuries were reported.
KZNVIP teams remain on high alert and are working in coordination with law enforcement agencies to track the suspects and ensure public safety.
