The South African Police Service in Seshego under Capricorn District have launched a massive manhunt for unknown suspects who killed a 28-year-old male victim at Motinti village on Saturday 31 May 2025 at about 13:30.
Reports suggest that Police were conducting patrol duties when they received a mob-justice related incident in progress and rushed to the vicinity. Upon their arrival, they found a male victim lying on the ground with head injuries and severely burnt all over the body.
The members of the Emergency Medical Services were summoned and he was certified dead on their arrival at the scene. The deceased was positively identified at the scene but his identity will be released in due course as part of investigation
The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage.
The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the attack pointing out that Vigilantism is a crime and there is no justification in doing it. ”Anyone found involved in such criminal act is supposed to face the full might of the law” Concluded General Hadebe.
