A 33 year old habitual thief was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in Brindhaven – KZN today (Thursday).
The man entered a property on Fairview Drive and stole a box containing glassware & collector dolls. He fled with the stolen goods after he was spotted by the homeowner.
The RUSA Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 10:45. The caller provided a clothing description of the suspect and the direction in which he fled. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and apprehended the male on the corner of Fairview Drive & Litchi Crescent.
The stolen goods were recovered in his possession. Copper taps and fittings believed to be stolen from another property & drug paraphernalia were also recovered in his back pack.
The homeowner arrived shortly thereafter and informed Reaction Officers that he witnessed the same male enter his property five (5) times in recent weeks. He fled with valuables from his garage on each occasion. The suspect is believed to be linked to a spate of thefts and burglaries.
He was detained at SAPS Verulam.
