Reaction Officers converged on the home of a seventy (75) year old woman after receiving reports that men with a cane- knives were seen gaining forced entry.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance at 12:17 (Friday) after a resident reported noticing the armed suspects at home in Bridgeford Drive in Mt View – KZN. The caller was concerned that a 75 year old woman was alone inside the home & an attack was imminent.
Reaction Officers surrounded the area and gained entry into the property at 12:20 and apprehended one (1) suspect as he attempted to flee while other Officers entered the in an attempt to locate the pensioner. The occupant of the home could not be found & it was later established that she had left to visit the Central Business District (CBD) minutes prior.
Forced entry was gained into the home & all stolen items were recovered.
