On Monday, 7 July 2025, the illicit mining members conducted an intelligence-driven operation at Angelo Informal settlement in Boksburg, targeting #IllegalMining activities. Six (6) suspects, aged between 18 and 27, were apprehended for contravening the Mineral Act 28 of 2002 and being illegal immigrants.
The suspects were found in possession of various items, including Phendukas, generators, motors, steel balls, steel pots, oxygen cylinders, gas cylinders, and stampers.
The suspects will appear before the Magistrate court soon.
