In two separate incidents yesterday, Mi7 Armed Response teams in Port Shepstone and Wolf Security successfully recovered two suspected stolen vehicles.
In the first case, Mi7 was alerted by Wolf Security of a possibly stolen vehicle flagged by a SNIPR license plate recognition (LPR) camera in the area. The team intercepted the vehicle in the Louisiana area just after 5pm. One suspect was found in possession of a gas-operated firearm and narcotics. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Heidelberg. The suspect was detained until the police arrived.
Later the same day, a second vehicle was flagged by the same camera. This vehicle was wanted as per a police inquest on a stolen vehicle. The team recovered the vehicle on the R102 near Umtentweni. One suspect was apprehended here as well.
In both instances, the matters were handed over to the police for further investigation. We applaud the combined teamwork which led to the recoveries of these vehicles.
