From Friday 11 July 2025 to Thursday 17 July 2025, Rapid Response Services comprising of the Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng arrested ninety two (92) suspects, recovering forty three (43) motor vehicles and five (05) firearms.
Members participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle check points, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, which led to forty nine (49) arrests for serious crimes including assault common and GBH, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of gold bearing material, business robbery, malicious damage to property, driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal immigrant, carjacking, bribery, drinking in public, contravention of protection order, crimen injuria, perjury, attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of house breaking equipment and theft.
Forty three (43) hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with ten (10) arrests for the possession of these vehicles. Five (05) unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying four (04) arrests.
In further policing twenty nine (29) arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs. Heroine, dagga crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and mandrax were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues in these cases.
The suspects will be appearing in the local Magistrates courts across Gauteng.
